Overview

India, Seen Properly: Two Weeks, Five Regions

Two weeks is enough to see the main faces of India: the monuments of the north, the lakes of Rajasthan, the Ganges at Varanasi, and the green water and tea hills of Kerala. It is also enough to make a mess of the trip if the connections are not planned.

This journey is private from end to end: your own luxury car and driver in each region, a licensed local guide in each city, and one Travelage host who handles every transfer and flight. The domestic flights, from Udaipur to Varanasi and from Varanasi to Kochi, connect through major airports, and we plan the timings so that the days remain comfortable.

It is a starting point, not a fixed plan. Remove a region, add a night, or switch Kerala for the beach or a tiger park, and we will rebuild the route.

Our Driver & coach was super, but focus on detail and ensuring that the safety & wellbeing of individual travellers was met, really put the trip at an all time high!”

Questions

About This Journey

Cannot find your answer? Write to us and a specialist will reply personally.

What is the best two-week itinerary for India?

+

For a first visit, the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur) plus Udaipur, Varanasi and Kerala is a popular combination, with monuments, lakes, a holy river and green backwaters. We tailor it to your interests.

Is two weeks enough for India?

+

It is enough for a good first journey of four or five regions, but not for everything. Two weeks lets you see the main sights at a comfortable pace. More time lets you add wildlife, hill stations or beaches.

What does private mean on this journey?

+

Your own luxury car and driver in each region, a licensed local guide in each city, and one Travelage host who manages every flight and transfer. Nothing is shared with other travellers.

How many flights are there?

+

Two domestic flights: Udaipur to Varanasi and Varanasi to Kochi, usually with a connection. We plan them so the days stay comfortable, and can book them for you.

Can I change the route?

+

Yes. Remove a region, add a night, or replace Kerala with a beach or a tiger park. Tell us your interests and days, and we will rebuild it.

What is the best time for a 14-day India tour?

+

October to March suits the whole route. April to June is very hot in the north, and the Kerala monsoon runs from June to September.

Can I travel with children or older relatives?

+

Yes. We adjust the pace, vehicles and stops, and can shorten the long drives with flights. Tell us about ages and mobility.

How do I book?

Send your dates through the form on this page. A Travelage specialist will reply with a tailored proposal within 24 hours.

Good to know

Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays

The Taj Mahal is closed to visitors on Fridays, so we plan Agra on any other day of the week. Please tell us your dates early.

Best time to go

October to March suits the whole route: comfortable in the north and drier in Kerala. April to June is very hot in the north, and the Kerala monsoon runs from June to September.

Flights

The Udaipur to Varanasi and Varanasi to Kochi flights usually connect through Delhi or another hub, so allow a long day for each. We can book them for you and plan the days around them.
