Short answer: a luxury Rajasthan tour is an eight-day private journey through Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur with palace and five-star hotels, a private chauffeur, private guides and long free afternoons. Road legs are kept to about six hours or less, and flights can replace any of them.
Rajasthan is the one place in India where staying in a palace is part of the point. Some of its finest hotels are former palaces and havelis, with courtyards, lake views and rooms that have hosted royalty. This journey is built around them.
You travel by private chauffeur in a luxury car, with your own licensed guides, and your hotels are named in your proposal, chosen for location, character and quality. Sightseeing is arranged for the best hours: Amber early, Mehrangarh in the right light, and long free afternoons by the pool or the lake.
The road days are kept short. Jaipur to Jodhpur is about 340 km (210 miles), and Jodhpur to Udaipur is broken at Ranakpur. If you would rather fly between cities, we can arrange that too.
Met at the airport by a Travelage host and taken to your hotel. Rest, with no plans, unless you want an early dinner somewhere memorable.
Drive about 280 km (175 miles) to Jaipur (five to six hours), or take a short flight, and settle into your palace hotel.
An early start at Amber Fort (by jeep or on foot), then the City Palace and Jantar Mantar with your private guide. The afternoon is free. We can arrange a block-printing visit, a private dinner or rest.
Drive about 340 km (210 miles) to Jodhpur (five and a half to six hours, with a break on the way) and settle into your hotel. In the evening, rest or walk along the old city’s blue lanes.
Visit Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada with a private guide, then drive about 160 km (100 miles) to Ranakpur (three hours) for the Jain temples, open to visitors from about midday. Continue about 90 km (55 miles) to Udaipur (two hours).
The City Palace, Jagdish Temple and the old city with your guide, then a boat on Lake Pichola at sunset, subject to the day’s schedule.
A free day. Rest by the lake, enjoy the spa, or take a cooking class or a drive to the countryside, as you prefer. We arrange it and you decide.
Transfer to Udaipur airport for your onward journey. A flight to Delhi takes about an hour and a half and is not included.

Rajasthan is big, so some days involve four to six hours on the road. We keep the longest legs to one a day, build in stops at places worth stopping, and use a luxury air-conditioned car with a driver who knows the roads. The route table on this page shows every leg.
