Overview

Two Cities, Four Days, No Wasted Hours

Jaipur and Udaipur are the two Rajasthan cities most travellers want to see, and they are about 400 km (250 miles) apart. This journey connects them in four days: a day in the Pink City, a travel day with a stop at Chittorgarh, and two nights on the lakes.

The road day is long, about seven to eight hours with stops, so we break it at Chittorgarh Fort. If you would rather not spend the day in the car, we can fly you from Jaipur to Udaipur and give you more time in each city. Tell us which suits you.

If you have a few more days, add Jodhpur and Pushkar with our 7 Days Rajasthan Tour.

Questions

About This Journey

Cannot find your answer? Write to us and a specialist will reply personally.

Is 4 days enough for Jaipur and Udaipur?

+

Yes, for the main sights. You get a day in each city and a travel day in between. It is a quick trip, so add a night in each if you want to slow down.

How far is Udaipur from Jaipur?

+

About 400 km (250 miles), seven to eight hours by road with stops. We break the drive at Chittorgarh Fort, or you can take a short flight instead.

Should I drive or fly from Jaipur to Udaipur?

+

Driving lets you see Chittorgarh and the countryside, but it uses most of a day. A flight saves the day. We can arrange either.

Is this tour private?

+

Yes. You have your own luxury car, driver and licensed guides. Nothing is shared with other travellers.

Can I start in Udaipur instead?

+

Yes. We can reverse the route to start in Udaipur and end in Jaipur. Tell us your arrival city.

What is the best time to visit?

+

October to March is the most comfortable. April to June is very hot, and July to September is monsoon, when Udaipur’s lakes are at their fullest.

How do I book?

+

Send your dates through the form on this page. A Travelage specialist will reply with a tailored proposal within 24 hours.

Is the driving between cities tiring?

+

Rajasthan is big, so some days involve four to six hours on the road. We keep the longest legs to one a day, build in stops at places worth stopping, and use a luxury air-conditioned car with a driver who knows the roads. The route table on this page shows every leg.

Do you recommend elephant rides at Amber Fort?

+

No. We do not include elephant rides. You go up to Amber Fort by jeep or on foot, and your guide takes you through the palace at a calm pace.
